Subterfuge.
When something presents itself three times in my life, through chance and disconnected experiences, but in a relatively close time frame, I typically acknowledge the presence of the energy as being important. A doorbell or telegram, of sorts, alerting me to the existence or pending arrival of something.
One thing new is a diptych I started yesterday. The idea came in two places: first, over the past few weeks I’ve been working in three directions, all interrelated, and through the course of that thought process the idea for something that worked in-tandem, image versus image, popped into mind and the excitement of that idea gave me all the energy I needed to make it real. Three days ago, as I often do during meditation, I had a grand idea, the kind in which you come out of meditation diving for a pen and paper to get down the blueprints. An installation work… a lot of installation works are found during meditation. The creative pool has deep waters. Having had already gessoed boards to take on a new journey, I figured lets use the diptych as the starting point to the installation. Lets explore and find the path.
Somehow, here, in ways that we can all only begin to think about in our minds and not yet in truth, are how the Embarcadero of San Francisco and the word “subterfuge” come to play together.
